Establishment:- Sailajananda Falguni Smriti Mahavidyalaya the only Govt. aided general Degree college of the Khayrasole Block was established in 1998. The College was named after Sailajananda Mukhopadhya and Falguni Mukhopadhya, the two glowing stars in the field of Bengali literature. The college is under the university of Burdwan. It got its permanent affiliation in the year 2001.

Location:- The college is situated by the side of Suri-Babuijore Bus route. It just 2 km. away from khayrasoe, the Block Head-Quarter. It is 40km. from Suri, the district town of Birbhum District. The nearest Rail Station is ‘Panchra’.

Area:- The college has an area of 6.48 area including the Buildings area. Total area is enclosed with boundary walls.

Course:- Only undergraduate (UG) Course in Arts stream is offered with Honours in six subjects like, Bengali, English, Geography, History, Philosophy, Sanskrit. General subjects like Bengali, English, Geography, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Sanskrit are taught here in General Course .

Fescilities:- Pure driking water hygienic toilets, Play ground and Canteen are also available. One N.C.C. and two N.S.S. units are run by the college. N.C.C. helps the students to get service.

Teaching and Learning:- Class room teaching as well as teaching in smart class rooms is available. Teachers are very Co-Operative and energetic. Special classes are also taken if necessary.

Library:- Library facilities are also available here. Good reading room for students is accessible here. Home issue of books is done in the library. Steps have been taken to modernize the library.
